Es alpukat, a surprisingly delicious and refreshing Indonesian coffee drink, gets its richness and body from avocado. In Indonesia, they often serve it over ice, but we prefer the ice blended right in, milkshake-style.

Ingredients
1/2 ripe large California avocado1/3 cup espresso or 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled1/2 cup sweetened condensed (not evaporated) milk2 cups ice cubes2 teaspoons vanilla
preparation
Scoop avocado flesh into a blender, then purée with remaining ingredients until completely smooth, about 1 minute.
Cooks' note:• If you have a large (6-cup) blender, you can double this recipe and still make it in 1 batch.
